About
Tri Lion logo
For years now, people have asked me about the TriLion logo. I'm always happy to share about it, but have never posted a write-up until now.
The logo is broken into three different sections. Everything has a meaning, and it should, because that's part of what makes a good brand. I did a retake on all of the logo's lines and circles to be as precise as I could get. Below you can see the new build of the logo.
The Lion

The Great Lion.
In the history of the world, the lion holds a lot of meaning. Ours has a few specific pieces of history connected to it. As a kid, my mom read me C.S. Lewis at bedtime, and then again later when I got too excited to sleep. Especially the Chronicles of Narnia series. Scenes of lions were literally painted in my mind, from Shasta's experience with lions in "The Horse and His Boy", to the beautiful imagery of Aslan the Great Lion literally breathing the world into existence in "The Magician's Nephew". This lion is a metaphor for the God who created the world. A father figure who is perfect.
My last name is White.
It used to be spelled Wyte or Whyte a long time ago. My dad ordered a family name history from the Historical Research Center, and that's where I first saw the coat of arms for my surname. It varies depending on where you pull it from, but the main element is three lions on the shield.
2.The mane

The mane is a feature of the logo that is really important to me. I love water, and love the thought of living water that quenches your thirst forever. This is a metaphor for the Holy Spirit which gives you a direct audience and connection with God. A Spirit of Life that enables you to have a relationship with your maker. Your maker. Amazing. I don't use the word "Awesome" much and try and reserve it for when I try to talk about Him.
Living Water
"But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life." - John 4:14 ESV.
Rivers of Living Water
"On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, 'Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.' Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified." - John 7:37-39 ESV (Talking about the Holy Spirit)
3.the three

The Great Lion.
Now, I know you are probably thinking he's going to talk about the three lions on his coat of arms. But honestly, the first thing I thought of when building this company's logo was giving glory to God and having Him be the focal point of the business.
"The Christian doctrine of the Trinity (Latin: Trinitas, lit. 'triad', from trinus, "threefold") holds that God is three consubstantial persons or hypostases—the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit—as "one God in three Divine Persons"." - Wikipedia
God is a triune God. He is three Persons, yet the same. Kind of hard to wrap your brain around, and yes, it is. But a good analogy I think of is water. Water is liquid, vapor, and ice. All the same thing, yet each with different character traits.
God the Father:
"How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!" –1 John 3:1
God the Son:
"And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth." - John 1:14
God the Holy Spirit:
"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope." - Romans 15:13
thanks
So now that I have somehow preached a mini sermon while explaining a logo, I need to bring it to a close. TriLion's order of operations is 1. Faith 2. Family 3. Business. Does that mean I couldn't care less how I run my business? Exactly the opposite. I put God and my family first because I love them. I like my business and I love design, but I always need to keep things in context. When I have balance in my personal life, I have a great foundation to launch brands and connect with clients during business hours.
Thanks for your time, and thank you for your interest in my company. I hope we can work together in the future. If not, at least a chat over coffee.
Sincerely,
Brian White
